Fabulous research of family heirlooms
We had a large collection of important pieces and were wondering where to start with valuation with a view to sale. Vernon listened to our dilemma and explained that with such pieces all would need researching thoroughly as a first step before a private sale. Vernon carried out magnificent research on these items which took a whole week of his time and at no charge! We were amazed by this but he had set himself the task and he kept his word. His findings were completed and were faultless (having had dealings with auction houses in the past, where we have sold similar pieces, no such research was undertaken and in such detail as that carried out by Vernon). The report from Vernon crystallised our thinking and enabled us to make a decision on keeping or selling part or all of the collection. The service my husband and I received was invaluable and I don’t know of any professional body of experts who would have undertaken such a research task without a fee. Thank you so much!

I contacted Vernon about a watch I have, I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep hold of it or not, he was so helpful in finding out about it for me and although I decided to keep it he was still so eager to help. After Vernon successfully sold some antique silverware for me some years ago, I returned to him to have my jewellery and gold coins valued and I must say that his valuations on these items were far higher than the previous quotes I'd been given. His knowledge was exceptional and he was very generous with his time which he gave freely. Excellent Service
I emailed Vernon on Monday with some pictures of jewellery that I wanted valued. He promptly contacted me and was able to give me an approximate valuation over the phone, advice on insurance and advice on whether or not to sell. What I most liked, was the fact that he spoke about the pieces in terms of their worth as items of jewellery and not just their 'weight in gold'. His advice was not motivated by 'making a sale'' (he actually advised that I may want to hold on to one of the items due to sentimental value) and I have arranged to visit his office in a few weeks so that he can view the pieces. Vernon also went the extra mile on his day off and called me back to confirm the price of one of my items. This was all for FREE!! I'm pretty sure you would be hard pushed to get such service elsewhere. I would recommend Vernon whole heartedly.

I contacted Vernon to ask whether he might be able to value a painting for me. He called back and advised he was going to forward the photos I had sent onto a specialist who was better versed with the subject matter. Vernon contacted me promptly and confirmed what the specialist had advised. All this took a matter of days only, with no costs for Vernon's time, or that of his contact. This was by any standard an exceptional service, for which I was most grateful. Thoroughly pleasant experience and I would highly recommend him
I visited Vernon from a recommendation after visiting several local and a couple of London based jewellers. I planned to get a valuation for some gold and diamond jewellery that I had for some time. I decided to sell which Vernon managed on my behalf for a very reasonable percentage which meant I got the best possible price. I was informed that this could take up to 10 days and I received payment well within that time. Vernon was friendly, COVID compliant and kept me well informed. Really nice guy, and assistant, who we went with my Mother & Brother to have possessions of my late Grandmother valued. Courtious, genuinely friendly, well informed & professional - you could see the interest and the passion in his work; far from being a dry antiquarian or money-oriented businessman it was clear he is a real human being doing what he loves. Absolutely no selling of his services at all; he was happy to look through allot of stuff to give a free appraisal and valuation, outlining all the options to selling them, very impartially I have to say, and he gave us his brochure saying he would happily help us sell them if we wish. All in all I would certainly come to him as a first port of call for valuations and disposal of high value peices. By far the most important qualities in his profession has to be integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness and for all these he scores top marks.

Vernon Ward responded very promptly and courteously to my initial enquiry. After several phone conversations to discuss our various items we arranged a convenient time to visit us, in line with the Covid guidelines at that time. He visited with his Secretary on time, as arranged. Vernon gave us his expert opinion and advice regarding valuations of our items, which was on a free of charge basis. His Secretary was also able to give us useful advice. He has carried out research on one particular unusual item on our behalf.
